Safety

Today we've celebrated our heritage as not only Finnish, but as people from Ostrobothnia, the area around Finland's western sea coast. I went to take a closer look at a museum area and managed to get some quite nice photos, telling the story of times past.

This picture was taken in a pretty much pitch black old smoke sauna, built in 1870's. I decided to name it safety, because somehow the feeling I got in that room was just that. Back in the old days, a lot of people gave birth in the warmth of a dark sauna. I could imagine this particular one seeing quite a few before becoming a part of the museum. Even though the room was dark, the light from outside brings life into the room.

This one has been edited somewhat with the help of Adobe Photoshop, in order to make it look older. In all it's simplicity, it's one of my personal favorites. Possibly because of the feelings it wakes up in me.
